Lilith Tiefenbacher studied medicine at the Charité Berlin (degree: First State Examination), then completed a BA in Philosophy and Comparative Literature at Freie Universität Berlin, with a stay abroad at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris. She obtained her master's degree in Comparative Literature at Freie Universität Berlin with a thesis on the relationship between voice and writing in Barbara Köhler's Niemands Frau. In 2023, she spent a semester at the Department of Chinese Literature at National Taiwan University. In addition to her academic work, she is also writing poetry and prose.

Under the cooperation agreement between the Friedrich Schlegel Graduate School of Literary Studies (FSGS) and EXC 2020, Tiefenbacher is concurrently a doctoral candidate at FSGS and a member of Research Area 4: Literary Currencies (since 2025).
