Research Fellow Tigran Amiryan to Participate in Two Events Dedicated to Armenian Memory
News from May 02, 2025
Tigran Amiryan, early career fellow in Research Area 1: "Competing Communities", will participate in the launch of the newly established research network Margins of Memory: Cultures and Politics of Non-Hegemonic Remembrance at Leibniz ScienceCampus in Regensburg on 7 and 8 May 2025. The postdoctoral researcher joins the international group of scholars as the only representative from Armenia and the South Caucasus region.
Amiryan will also take part in the festival 100+10 – Armenian Allegories at Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, where on Friday, 16 May 2025 he will join the author and dramaturge Necati Öziri in a conversation about memory narratives in Armenian literature and Aram Pachyan's novel P/F, which seeks a lyrical confrontation with the ghosts of history that still haunt the present: In an Armenia marked by wars and conflicts, its protagonist strives for inner peace and asks what remains when the worst is over. Amiryan and Öziri will discuss Pachyan's work and engage with the question of how writing can serve as a way of enduring the world.
Tickets for the event on 16 May 2025 are still available via the website of the Gorki Theater.
