In Mexico City of the mid-1970s, the infrarealist movement spearheaded by Roberto Bolaño and Mario Santiago Papasquiaro developed artistic practices focused on everyday life, marginalised experiences and political dissent in a bid to set itself apart from a literary field dominated by future Nobel Prize laureate Octavio Paz. The bilingual publication Tiempo Infra: conversaciones sobre el infrarrealismo / Infra-Zeit: Gespräche über den Infrarealismus casts fresh light on this Mexican neo-avant-garde movement and its mobilisation of poetry as a form of social and aesthetic intervention.

Containing pieces of poetry and interviews conducted by Palmireno Moreira Neto (Early Career Fellow at EXC 2020 in 2025), the tenth iteration of the con·stel·la·tions series showcases three prominent voices of infrarealism: Rubén Medina, Claudia Kerik and José Peguero. The translations by renowned translator Christiane Quandt also offer German-speaking readers a first encounter with the infrarealist poetry of the featured authors.

The volume is published by Textem Verlag in Spanish and German, with design by Bernd Grether.
