In the 79th Schwank from the Schwankbuch Katzipori (1558) by Michael Lindener, an unconventional image is presented: that of a woman urinating while receiving a letter. This contribution examines the distinctive nature of this image, situating it within a broader historical context. Therefore, the numerous contradictions that are characteristic of the 79th Schwank and, in fact, of the entire collection come into view. To interpret the image, the programme of libertinism, lawlessness and amusement, as outlined by the narrator in the prefaces, is subjected to analysis, which reveals that the contradictions are programmatic. This chapter illustrates the interconnection between this 'poetics of contradiction' and the obscene writing and descriptions found in Katzipori. Therefore, the image of the urinating lady functions as an exemplary imago agens for that phenomenon.
