Schaubühne

The Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz is a theatre ensemble that holds a significant place in Berlin's rich theatre landscape. Established in 1962, this theatre primarily showcases contemporary plays and adaptations of literary works on stage. In addition to its artistic endeavours, the Schaubühne actively nurtures and empowers emerging theatre creators. It also fosters international collaborations by participating in theatre exchanges and festivals worldwide.

Panel Discussion | Playwriting in the UK and in Germany (2021)

The panel discussion, hosted by Matthias Warstat and Maja Zade, explored the different cultures of writing for the theatre stage in Germany and the UK. It was part of the 2021 FIND Festival for contemporary playwriting, which brought three British playwrights—Tom Fowler, Iman Qureshi, and Temi Wilkey—to Berlin to share and discuss their work with their German counterparts Giorgi Jamburia, Caren Jeß, and Magdalena Schrefel.

Podiumsdiskussion | Orlando auf der Bühne (2019)

Das Grand Opening des Clusters schloss mit einem gemeinsamen Besuch der Aufführung Orlando von Virginia Woolf in der Regie von Katie Mitchell an der Schaubühne Berlin. Im Anschluss trafen Ensemblemitglieder und Wissenschaftler·innen des Clusters aufeinander, um über die Inszenierung und die Besonderheiten bei der Umsetzung von Romanstoffen auf der Theaterbühne zu sprechen.
