We are pleased to welcome Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor, former Dorothea Schlegel Artist in Residence, as a new member of our International Advisory Board at the Cluster.

Yvonne Owuor is an author based in Nairobi, Kenya. She holds a MPhil from the University of Queensland, Australia. Yvonne Owuor's many short stories and essays have been published in various magazines, anthologies, and journals. In 2003 she received the Caine Prize for African Writing for her work The Weight of Whispers (2006), followed by the Jomo Kenyatta Prize for Literature for her debut novel Dust (2014) in 2015. Owuor's fictional works are dedicated to the recent history of Kenya where she focuses on questions of origin, homeland and belonging.

The International Advisory Board consists of eight renowned scholars and intellectuals who play a significant role in shaping and developing the field of global literary studies to which the Cluster is dedicated. We are looking forward to continuing our work with Yvonne Owuor at the Cluster and are happy to have her on our International Advisory Board.
